Summer Solstice 2015
‘What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.’ - Ralph Waldo Emerson.
This year things are already very over grown, or slow to flourish, which reflects a certain amount of lack of clarity, especially mentally. This, by default, will give the next month and a half an ambiguous feeling. Traditionally the Summer Solstice is a time to celebrate successes and being with friends and family. It is important to be aware that there will be a tension between wanting to be invisible – due to this ambiguity, and, allowing our spiritual nature to support us in staying visible.
The main focus of the Summer Solstice will be around respect, i.e. being respectful and being respected. In particular, looking at our intent and the intent of others. The challenge will be what action we take if we feel disrespected, and apologising if we feel we have disrespectful. There may be times when an over-sensitivity is at work. Old resentments may surface, and at these times it can be very helpful to work at a soul forgiveness level. We can rise to a soul level, especially when two wrongs don’t make a right.
Remember that the summer is also about relaxing and enjoying this time of year. The first of August is a good time to reflect, meditate and begin to plan what we want to give ‘birth’ to. Be mindful not to squander our energy at this time, especially in relation to balancing our obligations to ourselves and to others. Also remember to use your creativity at all levels, particularly as a healing and problem solving tool.
A new era is around the corner. Look forward to the journey.
